EVEREST VS ANNAPURNA

To make the comparison between Everest and Annapurna is very difficult. You might have desire to participate in the both place or may be seeking good one. Now you might have the great question in your mind. Annapurna Circuit versus Everest Base Camp trek: which is better?

Hiking Nepal has made this account after the long survey with the people from various sectors. Our guest was hiking in the Annapurna Circuit in May; we met a couple of people who had just completed the Everest Base Camp trek prior to Annapurna. After having some talks with them we planned to visit Everest. We enjoyed hearing their thoughts on the pluses and minuses of both. Without delay I am asserting the Everest Base Camp trek wins hands down. And the reason is — in a word – scenery and it’s Aura.

We are not explaining the whole story of the both trek. We just try to provide you summary of each trek and skill to choose the good one. If you are making a decision about which trek to choose, we advise you to read our full coverage of each. The given each the simple synopsis on how the two treks stack up.

Landscape
Assuming you are hiking in the dry season of October / November or March / April, you can enjoy Mount Everest on your second or third day. Mount Everest is impressive because it is the highest mountain in the world and definitely not the biggest bustle in the area. Ama Dablam is beautiful from all directions.

Difficulties
Everest Base Camp is more difficult than the Annapurna circuit. Difficult parts are related to height.  After embarking your trek in the second day you will be in 3420 meters in the south market. On the Annapurna circuit, you need more sixth day to reach in such a destination. As already known, hiking in high altitudes is more difficult – not because of the lesser amount of oxygen in the air, but because of the reduced air density of oxygen it can be used for mental and physical functions. Infection of the breath and leg feel like lead is harmless, but the effect of high hiking is very obvious.

Speaking of these rising places, there are a lot of people like to run into base camp at Mount Everest. Every day on the road involves lots of upside down. Instead, the Annapurna circuit has a smoother and flat extension that does not let you breathe.

This is the perception we have asked to our guest and accumulated. Give an option; I always like to get up, even if they are tired, because gout can simply kill the knees. But what must fall, and at the base camp on Mount Everest, you will follow the exact route that is going uphill downhill. In my opinion, the nature of this trek is not inferior to the cycle of the Annapurna circuit, which begins and ends at two different places. At the Annapurna circuit, there is a good fact that you will never have to repeat the steps you take.

Accommodation and quality of food
The journey from Everest base camp is generally better than accommodation at the Annapurna circuit. The room on the route from Everest base camp is a little better, but the biggest difference lies in the bathroom. Firstly, in the low altitude city of the Everest route, the attached bathroom is a common option, and we only have this feeling on the Annapurna route. Secondly, even if you lose the extra bathroom option, your trekking hotel in Everest may still have a shared bathroom in the interior corridor, unlike our Annapurna hut. The food on both trips is almost the same in terms of product and quality.

The price
The Higher elevations, more “luxury” and larger brands create the expensiveness of Mount Everest. The ratio of price will be higher in Everest than Annapurna. Also, you need to consider Lukla flights, when booking a ticket, about $ 240 per person you should pay for it.  But In Annapurna you can reach without flight and enjoy the local hospitality and life style.

Crowd
It is difficult to accurately compare the crowd between the two. Therefore, we are happy to hear readers spend more time in the year of hiking to get a more accurate assessment.

In our experience, the camps in the base camps of Mount Everest are more crowded, and we also note that large groups are very common. However, on the Annapurna circuit, we only see one large group. Otherwise, hikers will usually be small or three to four small groups. We prefer the atmosphere of small groups.

Guides and Porter
In addition to the large groups, there are many tour guides and porter at the base camp of Mount Everest. Likewise the flow of the mass will be also higher in Annapurna as it’s the destination of the local tourist now days.

Bottom line
Two tours are amazing and we love it very much. If you have to choose one or the other, consider the above points and identify what is most important to you. Whatever your decision, we do not think you will regret it. If there is something, please contact in our office directly.
