Our 10 Days Rapid Everest Base Camp Itinerary is specially designed for the travelers with limited time and wishes to trek to Everest Base Camp in short.  This treks do not include any acclimatization days; hence, we suggest you train yourself with some regular physical exercise or join gyms/aerobics to keep yourself healthy and strong enough to walk in the Himalayas of Nepal.

Experience the Sherpa peoples and their richest culture, Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, and incredible panorama of highest Himalayan ranges on our Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek package.

Best Time To Go
Everest Base Camp can be achieved through the year, but to get most out of it, the best time of the year is September-December (autumn) & March-May (spring).The reason behind these two seasons is that the weather is clear, sunny & pleasant for you to enjoy the Himalayan vistas with least effort than other season.

Trip Notes in Detail :
As you are trekking in the remote Himalayas of Nepal, where weather conditions, health and fitness of the participants, natural calamities, and any other unforeseen circumstances could compel the trip to be customized even at the last minute. Hence, we always suggest being flexible with the condition. Also, we will try our best to keep the original itinerary. Your safety and satisfaction of the trip is our prime concern while traveling with us and we ensure you our best team, logistics, and professional services to make sure that you would have an amazing trip of a lifetime with us. Also note that our trip leader deserved the final decision if the trip has to amend, change the route or cancel due to the extreme conditions for the safety precaution. However, he will try his best to ensure that the trip runs accordingly to the stated plan but be prepared for flexibility if necessary.

For Everest Region Trek, the most important factor affecting the trip is Flight cancellation or delays in/out of Lukla due to weather conditions. Hence, we always suggest coming with at least a day spare to overcome any eventualities. The spare day in Kathmandu will be kept free and you can use it as you like. In case of flight cancellation, it will be rescheduled for the following day which completely depends on the availability of seats.  Alternatively, we can also hire a helicopter to fly in/out of Lukla. The cost depends on group size.  And all the expenses after delayed or cancellation of the trip will be added and need to pay on your own. To cover this helicopter flight expenses, you are kindly requested to come with travel insurance that covers the flight cancellation for a minimum of US$- 500 for a day so that you could claim for the flight cancellation once returned from the trip, and we will make documentation for this as per your requirements to submit to your insurance.

Day 1: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (Altitude: 2840/ 9372 ft. Phakding: 2610 m/8613 ft. Flight: 30 minutes Trek: 3/4 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

On a clear bright morning, you will fly over the snowcapped mountains to one of the most electrifying high altitude airports, Lukla at an altitude 2900 m. Your guides and porters will accompany you here for the trek. Hence, the trekking adventure kicks off. Beginning the trek, you will slide down almost 500 meters to Dudh Koshi River. Then, the trek winds along the trial beside the River towards Phakding. Passing several mani-walls and boulders engraved with Buddhist prayers, you will arrive at Phakding where you will spend your first night of your trek.

Day 2: Trek to Namche (Altitude; 3440 m/11352 ft. Trek: 5/6 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

The trek chases the northern trial up the Dudh Kosi valley to Monjo. At Monjo the trek officially enters Sagarmatha National Park where you have to issue Sagarmatha National Park Permit Card. Continuing the trial along the steep uphill climb while savoring the first glimpse of Everest, you will arrive at the hub of Sherpa- Namche Bazaar.

Day 3: Trek to Tengboche (Altitude: 3860 m/ 12738 ft. Trek: 5/6 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

With delightful breakfast in Namche, you will walk on the side of the valley above the Dudh Koshi River. Passing by several villages and numerous tea shops, you will descend steeply to a bridge over the river at Phunki Tenga; you can see water driven prayer wheel. Also, it is an ideal stopover for lunch where you will take rest for a while before making the steep climb to Tangboche. Along the trail, you can enjoy the beautiful rhododendron bushes, birds and superb mountains that let you forget about the tiring zigzag trail. You will get first view of spectacular mountains including Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse Shar, Tawache, Kangtega, Thamserkhu, Nuptse. Once you reach at Tengbocbe, you can explore the Khumbu largest monastery- the Tengboche Monastery.

Day 4: Trek to Pheriche (Altitude: 4240 m/13990 ft. Trek: 5/6 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

Starts your trail passing through lush forests of birch, confer and rhododendron trees. On the trail, you can have mesmerizing views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. You can slowly steep down to Deboche, then cross the Imja River to Pangboche. Ascend toward the upper Pangboche, you will visit one of the oldest monastery of Khumbu- the Pangboche Monastery. You will continue your hike to the Imja valley and Lobuche River on the way to Pheriche. It is an attractive village that is beautified with the field of barley, potatoes and buckwheat along with grazing animals.

Day 5: Trek to Lobuche (Altitude: 4910 m/16203 ft. Trek: 5/6 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

Today, trek will continue up the village from where, you can enjoy the mountains including Mt. Makalu. You will take a steep climb towards the foot of the Khumbu Glacier and reach at Dugla. You will rest for a while after taking lunch at local lodges. Then, you will walk on the trail zigzags up through the boulders of the glacier’s terminal moraine. At the top of this climb there are many stone cairns, built as memorials to the many Sherpas who have died while climbing Mt Everest. The path then climbs gently along the glacier, to eventually reach the cluster of houses at Lobuche. It is situated in the beneath of Lhotse ridge.

Day 6: Trek to Gorekshep- EBC- Gorekshep (Altitude: EBC: 5357m/17678 ft. Gorekshep: 5140 m/16960 ft. Trek: 6/7 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

It is the most interesting and challenging day of this trip as day starts with a mixture of excitement and anxiety. Today, you will hike up to the Everest base camp at an altitude of 5364 m.

 

You will headed through the horizontal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. On the way to Gorekshep, you will witness the north ridge of Mt. Everest, Mt. pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Nuptse and many more. Further climbing through the Changri Glacier, you can have first glimpse of Kalapatthar. You will stop at Gorekshep for a lunch; then continue to walk for your ultimate destination- the Everest Base Camp. The splendid views of the mountains and scenarios makes the journey livelier, even snubbing all the tiresome walk in the steep route. The trail will last for approximately 3 hours from Gorekshep. Once you reach at base camp, you can actually see the deadliest route to the Everest that make the journey more adventurous. You will get to spend quality time exploring the base camp and surrounding areas and return to Gorak Shep to spend the night.

Day 7: Morning Kalapathar and trek back to Pangboche (Altitude: Kalapatthar: 5550 m/18315 ft. Pangboche: 3930 m/12970 ft. Trek: 5/6 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

Next to Everest Base camp, this day is too exciting and adventurous hiking to Kalapatthar. You will get an early morning call from our guide to get ready to hike first at Kalapatthar. The reason is to catch the sparkling yellowish snowcapped over the mountains especially Mt. Everest by the strike of every rays during sunrise. Every second become an exciting moments of lifetime; well, don’t forget to capture in camera. Then, you will return back to Gorekshep with refreshing mood and descend back towards Pangboche, where you spend your overnight.

Day 8: Trek to Manjo (Altitude: 2850m/9405 ft. Trek: 4/5 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

It will be the steep down following the River, crossing bridge and enjoying the route decorated with birch and rhododendron forest. Your sight will even keep on catching few Himalayan giants including Everest, Kwangde, Tawache, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserkhu. Rest for a while and you will begin to retrace your journey towards Monjo. It will be an easy walk slightly sloping down towards the village Thamo having a beautiful Khare Gompa. You can observe several monasteries on your walking that represent the High land culture. You will stop for a while at Namche then, begins your journey to Monjo for your overnight stay.

Day 9: Trek to Lukla (Altitude: 2840/ 9372 ft. Trek: 4/5 hrs. Meal: BLD)+

Today is the final day of the trip. You will walk following Dudh Koshi River down to Lukla. You will have a celebration with the involvement of the Guide, Sherpa and Porters as well. They will serves some local’s beer called “CHANG” and enjoy party learning some dance step from traditional Sherpas.

Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu (Altitude: 1350/4428 ft. Flight: 30 minutes Meal: B/D)+

You will board a plane back to Kathmandu. Arriving at Kathmandu you will be transferred to your hotel and rest of the day will be your leisure time. You can go for shopping, message, or rest at Hotel. Evening time, we invite you for farewell dinner at authentic restaurant. You can share your experience, feedback us and give us a chance to make your evening a wonderful time. Overnight at Hotel.

Nepal Visa & Getting in to Nepal
All the foreign nationals (except Indian nationals) are required to display Visa while entering Nepal. Nepalese Visa can be obtained either at Nepalese Embassy of respective country or can be obtained during your arrival at the International Airport in Kathmandu or from the Nepal’s border entry point. However, certain nationals are requested to arrange Visa prior to arrival in Nepal. The listed countries are- Afghanistan, Iraq, Cameroon, Ghana, Somalia, Swaziland, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Liberia and cannot secure Nepalese Visa on arrival.

Requirements: Traveler should have a valid passport for at least six months, recent digital photos (size: 1.5″ x 1.5″) and Visa fees (either US$ or equivalent) mentioned as below:

Group Size:
For group, we normally run with minimum 2 person to maximum 10 in our published group departure program. However, there is no barrier for a private trip. We can run a trip for single person and even more than 10 in a group. Normally for a group, we provide 1 main guide, 1 assistance guide along with 1 porter for every 2 trekkers. Moreover, for every additional 2 trekkers, 1 more assistance and a porter will be provided making a team combination as follows:

Minimum to 2 PAX: 1 Guide and 1 porter
4-6 PAX: 1 guide, 1 assistance guide and 3 porter
7-10 PAX: 1 guide, 2 assistance guide and 4/5 Porter

Transportation:
On your arrival in Kathmandu and during city tour, we, Hiking Nepal, will provide you a private vehicle depending on your group size. However, for a drive outside Kathmandu valley, you will be driving by public tourist standard vehicle. If you are uncomfortable in such driving, we shall arrange a private vehicle for you with additional surcharges. Please suggest us in advance.

Best Season in Nepal
For Tour in Nepal, you can travel whole year and every season display different scenarios.  However, it is wise to know about climatic season. Normally, 2 season are considered best: Spring and autumn and season is categories in 4 different climatic seasons:

Spring (March, April, May):
During this time, temperature is mildly warm in low lands while moderate in higher altitudes with plenty of opportunities to have astonishing views of the mountains and landscape. At this time, the blossom flowers especially national flower of Nepal – rhododendron decorate the ascending altitudes with its generous color and beauty. Even the High altitude lodges get opened and get occupied with the mountain lovers.

Summer (June, July, and August):
This is also the monsoon season in Nepal. At this time, the weather is hot and wet at times. It rains almost every day with occasional thunderstorms in the evening. The rain spreads the pleasantness around with lush green vegetation. If you are planning to trek in this season, we suggest to choose rain shaded areas of Nepal. Even, if you do not mind rain, and wants to trek in this season, you should compulsorily bring umbrella, pancho, proper waterproof hiking boots, wind proof jackets, baggage wrap, and raincoat as well as required insect repellent. Likewise, the reward of this month is the view of lush green valley captured by small flowers. It is a wonderful time to observe monsoon cycle of agriculture and the traditional life of Nepalese people.

Autumn (September, October and November):
This time is considered to be the best tourist season in Nepal with the end of summer and the winter to set in. The weather is highly pleasant so are the mountain views. The trekking routes get beautified with the presence of trekkers and expedition groups. Meantime, most of the festivals of Nepalese societies are enthusiastically celebrated at this time.

Winter (December, January and February):
During this time, the weather is cool and the sky is clear with occasional snowfalls at higher elevations. At this time, trekking in lower elevation is fine however, at the high altitude, most of the lodges get closed and it will be a bit difficult to cross high altitude passes. This season is good for trekking in lower elevations. The morning and night get extreme cold sometime reaching temperature at (-) minus but the days are warm and pleasant.

Travel Insurance:
While travelling to Nepal, you are requested to have a travel insurance that should cover any comprehensive expenses possible to acquire due to medical issues or accidents. Especially, your travel insurance must protect air ambulance, treatment charges, rescue and evacuation, product cancellation and refundable charges, flight delay and cancellations. We suggest you to bring your travel insurance certificate or send us scan copy and it must be issued from your home land. We do not arrange or sell insurance.

Vaccination
It is better to follow the precaution given by World Health Organization and other international health related institutions that recommend having vaccines before travelling Nepal to prevent from certain fatal illness. If possible, we suggest you to bring your medical certificate however, it is not required to show but for safety. The recommended vaccines are polio, Diphtheria, Tetanus, typhoid, yellow fever, hepatitis A/B, Influenza (Flu), Japanese encephalitis, and Tuberculosis. Meantime, it is better to consult your professional doctor about your travel and he might recommend you properly. You can also take suggestion of local travelers who have travelled Nepal before and know more about the required precautions. Please note that the protection that can be gained from vaccines varies from 50% to almost 100%. So remember that even if you have taken a vaccine you might still get the disease, although you will have greatly reduced your chances of getting ill.

Booking and Payment
If you are satisfied with the proposal, we request you to fill up an online booking form along with 20% payment of total trip cost. Your booking form should be attached with a scan passport copy and a head shot photograph. One member of a team can fill up a booking form however; all other member should be familiar with the terms and condition before confirmation.

The trip cost is always quoted in US$ unless otherwise stated. Booking deposit can be made by Bank Transfer or by Credit Card (Visa or Master Card). 20% of your deposit is the non-refundable amount and compulsory to deposit by every member. You can pay your remaining amount once you arrive in Kathmandu. Meantime, the conditions applied only for Nepal Trip or your travel to other destination- Tibet, Bhutan, India via Kathmandu. Be informed that your deposit by credit card or debit card will deduct extra 4% as Bank service charge.

In case of Tailor Made trips, you may require a higher deposit or full payment during booking, which may differ from deposit rate referred in this clause. In such cases, you will be timely advised on mail by Hiking Nepal for the amount to be paid.

Payment:
Payment is done once you are agreed with the terms and conditions of Hiking Nepal and fill up a Booking form. Then, you should pay 20% of total trip cost and in a group, each member should deposit the mentioned amount. For the payment, you can either Bank transfer or pay by Credit Cards (Visa/MasterCard/AMEX).

Don’t forget to Email the Bank Reference Number or remittance slip on deposit. It can track and claim the fund easier if provided with asked details (reference #/remittance slip or sender credential) and incase Bank misplaces the transfer.

Cancellation Policy
If cancellation is made 30 days prior to trip, 20% of your deposit is non- refundable. In case of deposit of full amount of more than 20%, we alter it for your next trip.

If you leave your trip after starts on whatever the reason be, no refund will be given for any unused portion of the trip.

If company in case failed to provide the trip due to unexpected circumstances like flight cancellation by airlines, heavy snow, landslides and any other disasters that are out of control; choice for tour of similar nature would be provided. Alternatively, your trip could also be postponed for the next time. However, any extra expenses incurred due to such cancellation, would be your own liability.

Likewise, any extra expenses incurred by you due to delay or cancellation of flight or any additional cost should bring upon yourself.

Cancellation Charges are expressed hereafter as a percentage of the total trip cost.
Cancellation 60 days or more before departure: 100% of Total Deposit.
Cancellation 59-21 days before departure: 50% of Total Trip Cost.
Cancellation less than 21 days before departure: 100% of Total Trip Cost.

The Client is strongly advised to take out cancellation insurance at the time of booking.
