Namche Bazaar — The Sherpa capital of Khumbhu region, Namche bazaar lies in the popular classic route of Everest Base Camp at an estimated altitude of 3440m.

1.Administrative
Namche Bazaar is unofficially the capital of Khumbu region (Everest Region). a community police check post, banks, Sagarmatha National Park Headquarters and army barracks. Office of a local electricity authority named Khumbu Bijuli also lies here.
2. Acclimatization point for Trekkers

Namche Bazaar is a bustling tourist zone and trading hub of the Khumbu region. However, after Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay’s successful climb of Everest in 1953, the dynamics of Namche Bazaar changed forever as climbers and trekkers flocked in the region.
Now, it has become a bustling tourist zone where economic exchanges have completely replaced the barter system.
7. Weather and Climate
Namche Bazaar is located on 3,440 m which is quite high from sea level. The winters are cold and dry, while summers are warm at Namche Bazaar. The temperatures, on an average, are the highest in July, at around 11.7°C while the coldest month of the year is January with an average of -0.8°C
During the monsoon season, it is neither too cold nor too hot, but the streets get quite muddy, and puddles are formed.
8. Saturday Market
On Saturday morning traders from around the region come upon this place to buy and sell many goods like Cloths, foods,butter, vegetables and other products of the region. It also offers a variety of climbing equipment.
9. Honorary Visit
The 39th president of the United States of America, Jimmy Carter, visited Namche Bazaar in October of 1985 with his wife Rosalyn.
