1.Dhido
Dhido is a traditional Nepali food widely consumed in hilly and mountain region of Nepal . Dhido is a sugar-free dish made up of either wheat or maize. Dhido is made up of corn flour or millet flour. It is made by cooking flour in boiled water with continues stirring. It is a type of simple flour pudding. Dhido is considered to be very healthy especially for diabetic people. It is often eaten with gundruk (fermented leafy green vegetable) soup.
2. Dal Bhaat Tarkari
Daal bhat tarkari is the daily meal eaten by all the Nepalese throughout the country which can be considered as National food of Nepal. Daal is a soup made of lentils and spices which is served with the boiled grains known as Bhat. Tarkari is curry-a mash up of different vegetables flavored with spices and curry powder. It is the main staple diet of most Nepali people and usually eaten two times a day.

3. Newari Set or Samay Baji
Samay Baji is the famous Newari dish served as a starter in family get-together and festivals. The dish consists of Chiura ( beaten rice) and is served with many side dishes like Choila (marinated meat), fried boiled egg, spicy potato pickle, finely cut ginger, spiced beans, green leafy vegetables, buff and Newari drink called “Aila”.
Aila (homemade alcohol)made from millet and rice, is a traditional distilled alcoholic beverage. Nepalese drink this home to celebrate festivals.
4. Sel Roti
Sel roti is a ring-shaped, sweet Nepali dish mostly prepared during the festival. It is a deep fried rice dough. To add taste, sugar, and cardamom is mixed in the dough before frying it.
5. Chatamari
Chatamari is a Newari food item which referred as Newari Pizza by many foreigners. A flatbread made of rice flour with various toppings, just like pizza. Egg, minced meat and onions are the most common and traditional toppings. But the evolvement in the food culture has introduced other toppings like cheese.

Aloo Tama
Aloo Tama is a typical Nepali soup prepared with black-eyed beans, potatoes, bamboo shoots and spices and one of the popular dish cooked almost in every household throughout Nepal. In Newari Bhoj (feast) you will always find this dish.
Juju dhau
Juju dhau is well known as “King Curd” which is the specialty of Bhaktapur. Rich in taste with its thick creamy consistency will value why it is called “King Curd”. Found in clay pots and plastic cups, it is often used as a desert.
