Spring or pre monsoon is a blissful season after a cold shivery winter. With warm days and nights, clear sky, blooming flowers and lush green trees, the season feels like a wonderland from fairy tales. The Spring season in Nepal spans from March to May. The chance of extreme weather condition is rare, which means it’s the perfect time for travelling. In Nepal, this is the best season for exploration, be it in trekking trails or in the touring areas. The best reason to travel during Spring is that you can feel the vibes of winter by seeing snow in higher altitudes as well as the beginning of summer by seeing the bloom of wild flowers and lush greenery. The sight that you witness during the Spring season, makes your trek or hiking more exciting and wonderful. It is the second pick for trekking after Autumn, meaning comparatively less traffic and more time to explore the hidden landscapes. The days are longer and warmer compared to winter giving more comfortable atmosphere not just for hiking and trekking in higher altitude with clear mountain views, but also for mountaineering expeditions. Most of the Everest expeditions take place during this time. Spring season also indicates the end of previous harvest and beginning of Nepali New Year followed by train of festivals. Kathmandu city becomes more alive during Spring season, as different Jatras and festival take place during this season. One can witness diverse culture and even take part in the festival in the valley. Many outdoor activities can be comfortably performed during Spring as the weather is pleasant and relaxing with moderate temperature. Wildlife jungle safari and overland tours are commonly done and the chance of seeing rare animals of Terai is quite high during this season. Rafting is also a common activity during late Spring season as temperature is moderate and the rapids in the river also increase due to the melting of snow.
